Meditation Training
Meditation Training
There are several yoga centers today that offer meditation training in the curriculum of their yoga teacher’s training courses. Several Buddhist centers also offer courses, both short and long, in the various techniques of meditation that have arisen out of that tradition.
The Brahma Kumaris are an international organization that offer free meditation courses and of course TM, or Transcendental Meditation, has been internationally popular for decades now and offers meditation training at their centers worldwide.
Meditation training requires little else but eagerness from its students. Being that there are several different methods available, you may want to research a few of them before you decide which technique to be trained in. Or, perhaps you would prefer to be trained in more than one technique. Meditation training is such a field that the benefits of one technique can often aid the methods of another, although sometimes there are opposing schools of thoughts. The bottom line is; you have to find what works for you.
Meditation training can last anywhere from one day to even a one month long retreat. Some people opt to travel to India or Tibet for extensive training. However, before you do that, we suggest you start by logging onto the internet and seeing what is available to you there.
Often enough, if you are just looking for some simple technique to help you unwind at the end of a busy day, you can find it within minutes on the internet. Of course, for more extensive meditation training, you will want to take a course under the expert guidance of a seasoned meditation facilitator.
