Managing Anxiety, Physical Signs, Coping With Anxiety,
ANXIETY. Physical Signs of Anxiety
Hello, my name is Rod Morgan and I am the founder of The Stress Workshop.
In the 1990s, during the last severe economic recession, I experienced severe anxiety. Now it is true to say that we all experience anxiety to some degree from time to time, usually when we go into an unusual or new situation or a new environment.
In the last economic recession though I suffered severe anxiety.
Since then I have come back. I have turned my life around, I am back on top and I am really enjoying myself again. And you can do the same too.
But before we get to that, let us have a look at one of two of the physical symptoms of anxiety. Things such as -
– dizziness
– lethargy
– pins and needles
– irregular heartbeat (otherwise known as palpitations)
– muscle aches
– dry mouth
– excessive sweating
– shortness of breath
– stomach ache
– diarrhoea
– headaches
– excessive thirst
– frequent urinating
– painful or missed periods
and something that I certainly experienced a lot of myself, not being able to sleep properly. I would wake up early morning after morning and not be able to get back to sleep again.
Now in this series of articles we will also be looking at the psychological symptoms of anxiety as well as how common it is, what causes it and whether or not there is a cure.
